(1) failure by the Hospital's clinical neurophysiologists to appreciate that the monitoring of the spinal cord during the operation was providing no useful information; or therefore so to notify Mr Williamson ('the monitoring claim')(2) failure by Mr Williamson to carry out or adequately consider a 'wake up test' as an alternative ('the wake-up test claim')
(3) failure by Mr Williamson, in the absence of monitoring or a feasible wake up test, to abandon the operation ('the abandonment claim').
