CONSTITUTION OF URBAN AUTHORITIES ORDER, 1942.

CONSTITUTION OF URBAN AUTHORITIES ORDER, 1942.

DEPARTMENT OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC HEALTH.

WHEREAS by Section 34 of the Local Government Act, 1941 , the Minister for Local Government and Public Health (in this Order referred to as " the Minister ") is required before the elections held next after the commencement of the said section of members of councils of boroughs other than county boroughs and the boroughs of Dún Laoghaire and Galway, councils of urban districts and commissioners of towns to fix the total number of the members of every such council or commissioners :

NOW, THEREFORE, the Minister in pursuance of the said section and in exercise of every other power enabling him in this behalf hereby orders as follows, that is to say :

1. This Order may be cited as the Constitution of Urban Authorities Order, 1942.

2. The total number of the members of every body mentioned in Part I of the Schedule to this Order shall be twelve.

3. The total number of members of every body mentioned in Part II of the Schedule to this Order shall be nine.

SCHEDULE.

PART I.

The council of each of the following boroughs, that is to say :—

Clonmel, Drogheda, Kilkenny, Sligo, Wexford.

The council of each of the following urban districts, that is to say :—

Bray, Dundalk, Tralee.

PART II.

The council of each of the following urban districts, that is to say :—

An Uaimh, Arklow, Athlone, Athy, Ballina, Ballinasloe, Belturbet, Birr, Buncrana, Bundoran, Carlow, Carrickmacross, Carrick-on-Suir, Cashel, Castlebar, Castleblayney, Cavan, Ceanannus Mór, Clonakilty, Ciones, Cobh, Cootehill, Dungarvan, Ennis, Enniscorthy, Fermoy, Granard, Killarney, Kilrush, Kinsale, Letterkenny, Listowel, Longford, Macroom, Mallow, Midleton, Monaghan, Nás-na-Ríogh, Nenagh, New Ross, Passage West, Skibbereen, Templemore, Thurles, Tipperary, Trim, Tullamore, Westport, Wicklow, Youghal.

The Commissioners of each of the following towns, that is to say :—

Ardee, Balbriggan, Ballybay, Ballyshannon, Bandon, Bantry, Boyle, Droichead Nua, Edenderry, Gorey, Kilkee, Lismore, Loughrea, Mountmellick, Muine Bheag, Mullingar, Portlaoighise, Tuam.
