MATERNITY AND CHILD HEALTH SERVICES (AMENDMENT) (No. 2) REGULATIONS, 1956. |

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 5 of the Health Act, 1947 (No. 28 of 1947) and Section 22 of the Health Act, 1953 (No. 26 of 1953), as amended by Section 2 of the Health Act, 1954 (No. 23 of 1954) hereby makes the following Regulations :-- |

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Maternity and Child Health Services (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 1956. |
||
2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 15th day of June, 1956. |
||
3. In these Regulations, " the Form " means Form MCD in the Schedule to the Maternity and Child Health Services (Amendment) Regulations, 1956 ( S.I. No. 44 of 1956 ). |

4.--(1) Part II of the Form shall be amended :-- |
||
(a) by the substitution of " fourteen " for " 7 " in paragraph 18 ; |
||
(b) by the substitution of " one month's notice or such longer notice as the health authority considers adequate " for " such notice as the health authority considers adequate or without notice " in paragraph 18 ; |
||
(c) by the substitution of " twenty-eight " for " 14 " in paragraph 19. |
||
(2) The inclusion of the terms and conditions set out in paragraphs 16 to 19 of Part II of the Form in an agreement between a health authority and a registered medical practitioner shall not be construed as affecting any right of action in the Courts which either of the parties to the agreement may have. |

(3) A health authority shall operate any agreement under the terms and conditions set out in the Form which was entered into by them before the commencement of these Regulations as if they had entered into that agreement under the terms and conditions in the Form as amended by this Article. |

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
These Regulations make minor textual alterations in a form of agreement between doctors and health authorities for the provision of maternity services under the Health Acts. |
