CONTROL OF IMPORTS (QUOTA NO. 13) (WOVEN WOOLLEN AND SYNTHETIC AND ARTIFICIAL FABRICS) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1956.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by the Control of Imports Acts, 1934 and 1937, hereby order as follows :--

1.--(1) This Order may be cited as the Control of Imports (Quota No. 13) (Woven Woollen and Synthetic and Artificial Fabrics) (Amendment) Order, 1956.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 24th day of July, 1956.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. Part II of the Schedule (inserted by the Control of Imports (Quota No. 13) (Woven Woollen and Synthetic and Artificial Fabrics) (Amendment) Order, 1954 ( S.I. No. 227 of 1954 )) to the Control of Imports (Quota No. 13) Order, 1935 ( S. R. & O. No. 59 of 1935 ), is hereby amended by the deletion in sub-paragraph (iii) of paragraph (1) of " or other cloth containing metal yarn."

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The effect of the amendment is to remove the exemption in Control of Imports (Quota No. 13) Order, 1935, for clothes containing metallic yarn, other than lamé cloth.
