IMPOSITION OF DUTIES (No. 54) (FURNISHING FABRICS) ORDER, 1959. |

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 1 of the Imposition of Duties Act, 1957 (No. 7 of 1957), hereby order as follows : |
||
|
1. This Order may be cited as the Imposition of Duties (No. 54) (Furnishing Fabrics) Order, 1959. |
||
|
2. The duty of customs imposed by the Emergency Imposition of Duties (No. 382) (Furnishing Fabrics) Order, 1956 ( S.I. No. 197 of 1956 ), is hereby varied, as respects articles imported on or after the 20th day of January, 1959, by the substitution in paragraph 3 of " twelve inches " for " eighteen inches ". |

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
|
This Order amends the scope of the duty of 50% (full) 33 1/3% (preferential) applicable to furnishing fabrics which are not less than 18" in width to include furnishing fabrics which are not less than 12" in width. |
