S.I. No. 158/1961:

WHEAT (TRANSFER OF MINISTERIAL FUNCTIONS) ORDER, 1961.

WHEAT (TRANSFER OF MINISTERIAL FUNCTIONS) ORDER, 1961.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by subsection (1) of section 6 of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1939 (No. 36 of 1939), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Wheat (Transfer of Ministerial Functions) Order, 1961.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of August, 1961.

2. In this Order "functions" includes powers and duties.

3. The administration and business in connection with the exercise, performance or execution of the functions transferred by this Order are hereby transferred to the Department of Agriculture.

4. The functions of the Minister for Industry and Commerce in connection with the procurement of wheat from abroad are hereby transferred to the Minister for Agriculture.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order provides for the transfer of certain functions in relation to the procurement of wheat from abroad from the Minister for Industry and Commerce to the Minister for Agriculture.
