CUSTOMS (LAND FRONTIER) REGULATIONS, 1965.

CUSTOMS (LAND FRONTIER) REGULATIONS, 1965.

The Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers vested in him by Section Thirteen of the Adaptation of Enactments Acts, 1922, and of every other power enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations amending the Customs (Land Frontier) Regulations, 1923, hereinafter referred to as the Principal Regulations and the Customs (Land Frontier) Regulations, 1924, together with the Customs (Land Frontier) Regulations, 1929, the Customs (Land Frontier) Regulations, 1937, the Customs (Land Frontier) Regulations, 1938, the Customs (Land Frontier) Regulations, 1939, the Customs (Land Frontier) Regulations, 1943, the Customs (Land Frontier) Regulations, 1951, the Customs (Land Frontier) Regulations, 1952, and the Customs (Land Frontier) Regulations, 1962.

1. As from Saturday the 1st day of May nineteen hundred and sixty-five, the Schedule to these Regulations is hereby substituted for the Schedule to the Customs (Land Frontier) Regulations, 1962, and the Principal Regulations shall apply as if the Schedule to these Regulations were substituted for the First Schedule to the Principal Regulations.

2. These Regulations shall be construed together with and as part of the Principal Regulations and the Customs (Land Frontier) Regulations, 1924, 1929, 1937, 1938, 1939, 1943, 1951, 1952 and 1962 and may be cited as the Customs (Land Frontier) Regulations, 1965.

APPROVED ROUTES, FRONTIER POSTS AND CUSTOMS STATIONS.

PART I.

ROUTES APPROVED FOR THE IMPORTATION OF GOODS OF EVERY DESCRIPTION AND THE EXPORTATION OF GOODS OF EVERY DESCRIPTION EXCEPT LIVESTOCK.

("Livestock" means "Live pigs, sheep and attested cattle").

PART II.

ROUTES APPROVED--

(a) for the importation of goods not liable to any duty or to any prohibition or restriction on importation;

(b) for the exportation of goods, other than livestock, not liable to any duty or prohibition on exportation;

(c) for the importation and exportation of the following classes of vehicles whether empty or carrying only such goods as are specified at (a) or (b) above----

(1) vehicles owned and registered in the State which are being temporarily exported or are being reimported following such exportation;

(2) vehicles eligible for importation free of customs duty under the regulations in force from time to time relating to the temporary importation of motor vehicles, provided that

(i) the person in charge of such vehicle (a) is in possession of a valid Pass Book or a valid Temporary Importation Permit which relates to the vehicle or (b) establishes that the vehicle is eligible for admission under a Temporary Importation Permit, or

(ii) the vehicle, if it is a commercial vehicle which is not eligible for a Temporary Importation Permit, is imported under triptyque or carnet for private use.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

Derrylin to Belturbet via Aghalane Bridge

Rosslea to Monaghan via Inishammon

Crossmaglen to Carrickmacross via Culloville Bridge.
