DISEASES OF ANIMALS ACT, 1966 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1966

I, CHARLES J. HAUGHEY, Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 1 (2) of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966), hereby order as follows :--

1. This Order may be cited as the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (Commencement) Order, 1966.

2. The 26th day of May, 1966, is hereby appointed as the day on which Parts I and V and sections 11, 12, 13, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24, 25, 32, 46, 54 and 58 of and the First, Second and Third Schedules to the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966), shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings into operation the sections of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 , which give the Minister power to make Orders providing for (1) the eradication of certain animal diseases and (2) the control of the sale and export of horned cattle.
