LANDLORD AND TENANT (GROUND RENTS) ACT, 1967 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1967

I, BRIAN LENIHAN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 of the Landlord and Tenant (Ground Rents) Act, 1967 (No. 3 of 1967), hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Landlord and Tenant (Ground Rents) Act, 1967 (Commencement) Order, 1967.

2. The 1st day of March, 1967, is hereby appointed as the day on which the Landlord and Tenant Act, 1967 (No. 3 of 1967), shall come into operation.

GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 24th day of February, 1967.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings the Landlord and Tenant (Ground Rents) Act, 1967 , into operation on the 1st day of March, 1967. the Act provides for the entitlement of certain lessees and tenants to purchase the fee simple in their premises, and for other matters.
