ROAD TRAFFIC (SPEED LIMITS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1967. |

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 5 , 45 and 46 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) after consultation with the Commissioner of the Garda Síochána and the road authority concerned and, as respects article 5, on the application of the said Commissioner hereby makes the following Regulations:-- |

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (Amendment) Regulations, 1967. |
||
(2) These Regulations and the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) Regulations, 1963 and 1965 shall be construed as one and may be cited as the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) Regulations, 1963 to 1967. |
||
2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 14th day of April, 1967. |
||
3. In these Regulations-- |
||
" Principal Regulations " means the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) Regulations, 1963 ( S.I. No. 18 of 1963 ); |
||
" Amending Regulations " means the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (Amendment) Regulations, 1965 ( S.I. No. 86 of 1965 ). |
||
4. The First Schedule to the Principal Regulations is hereby amended by the substitution in paragraph (a) of reference 2 under the heading " County of Galway " (as amended by the Amending Regulations) of " 150 " for " 100 ". |
||
5. The Third Schedule to the Principal Regulations (as amended by the Amending Regulations) is hereby amended by the addition thereto of the following road:-- |

" 5. The following road in the Borough of Galway:-- |
||
The Oranmore Road between a point 150 yards east of Moneenagisha Cross and a point 100 yards east of its junction with the Ballyloughan Road." |
||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
The effect of this regulation is to impose a special speed limit of 40 m.p.h. on a section of the Oranmore Road at Galway and to extend the existing 30 m.p.h. on this road a further 50 yards. |
