CORK TRAFFIC (ONE-WAY STREETS) TEMPORARY RULES, 1968.

I, PATRICK CARROLL, Commissioner of the Garda Síochána, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 89 (3) of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961), and with the consent of the Minister for Local Government, hereby make the following temporary rules in respect of the area comprising the county borough of Cork:--

1. These rules may be cited as the Cork Traffic (One-Way Streets) Temporary Rules, 1968.

2. These rules shall come into operation on the 2nd day of February, 1968.

3. Each street (or portion of a street) mentioned in column (2) of the First Schedule to these rules shall be a one-way street at all times.

4. Traffic using a street (or portion of a street) mentioned in column (2) of the said First Schedule shall travel in the direction indicated in column (3) of that Schedule opposite the mention in the said column (2) of that street (or portion of a street), and in no other direction.

5. Traffic approaching a street junction mentioned in column (2) of the Second Schedule to these rules, by an approach route mentioned in column 3 of that Schedule opposite the mention of that junction in the said column (2), shall not turn right at that junction.

6. Traffic approaching a street junction mentioned in column (2) of the Third Schedule to these rules, by an approach route mentioned in column (3) of that Schedule opposite the mention of that junction in the said column (2), shall not proceed straight ahead across that junction.

7. Traffic approaching a street junction mentioned in column (2) or the Fourth Schedule to these rules, by an approach route mentioned in column (3) of that Schedule opposite the mention of that junction in the said column (2), shall not proceed straight ahead across that junction.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

Rule 3 provides that the streets or portions of streets appearing in column (2) of the First Schedule shall be one-way streets at all times.

Rule 4 provides that traffic using a street or portion of a street mentioned in column (2) of the First Schedule shall travel in the direction indicated in column (3) of that Schedule.

Rule 5 provides that traffic using an approach route mentioned in column (3) of the Second Schedule shall not turn right at the junctions specified in column (2) of that Schedule.

Rule 6 provides that traffic using an approach route mentioned in column (3) of the Third Schedule shall not turn left at the junctions specified in column (2) of that Schedule.

Rule 7 provides that traffic using an approach route mentioned in column (3) of the Fourth Schedule shall not proceed straight ahead at the junctions specified in column (2) of that Schedule.
