BRUCELLOSIS IN CATTLE (MOVEMENT CONTROL) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1971. |

I, JAMES M. GIBBONS, Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, it appearing to me to be necessary for the purpose of the progressive eradication of brucellosis in cattle, hereby, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 20 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966), order as follows : |

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Brucellosis in Cattle (Movement Control) (Amendment) Order, 1971. |
||
(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of February, 1971. |
||
2. (1) The Brucellosis in Cattle (Movement Control) Order, 1970 ( S.I. No. 135 of 1970 ), as amended by the Brucellosis in Cattle (Movement Control) (Amendment) Order, 1970 ( S.I. No. 199 of 1970 ), and the Brucellosis in Cattle (Movement Control) (Amendment) (No. 2) Order, 1970 ( S.I. No. 248 of 1970 ), shall be amended as follows: |

(a) the following is hereby substituted for the definition of " area " in Article 2: |
||
" 'the area' means the area which consists of the administrative counties of Longford, Louth, Mayo, Meath, Roscommon and Westmeath;"; and |
||
(b) the following is hereby substituted for paragraph (1) of Article 3 : |
||
"(1) The provisions of this Order shall apply to the area.". |
||
(2) In the Brucellosis in Cattle (Movement Control) Order, 1970, each reference to an area shall be construed as a reference to the area within the meaning of that Order, as amended by paragraph (1) of this Article. |

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
This Order by amending the Brucellosis in Cattle (Movement Control) Order, 1970, extends to Co. Meath the controls which already apply in Counties Longford, Louth, Mayo, Roscommon and Westmeath. These six counties now form one Clearance Area. |
