S.I. No. 251/1971:

DUBLIN PARKING (NO. 2) TEMPORARY RULES, 1971.

DUBLIN PARKING (NO. 2) TEMPORARY RULES, 1971.

I, MICHAEL J. WYMES, Commissioner of the Garda Síochána, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 90 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) (as amended by section 6 of the Road Traffic Act, 1968 (No. 25 of 1968)), hereby make the following temporary rules in respect of the area comprising the county borough of Dublin:

1. These rules may be cited as the Dublin Parking (No. 2) Temporary Rules, 1971.

2. These rules shall come into operation on the 6th day of September, 1971.

3. (1) No person shall park a vehicle in a street or portion of a street to which this rule applies for any period during the period from 11 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. on any week-day.

(2) This rule shall not apply to--

( a ) any vehicle which is being used in connection with--

(i) the removal of any obstruction to traffic,

(ii) the maintenance, improvement or reconstruction of any street or part of a street,

(iii) the provision, alteration or repair of any sewer or of any main, pipe or apparatus for the supply of gas, water or electricity or any telegraphic or telephonic line, or

( b ) a fire engine or ambulance or any vehicle in the service of the Garda Síochána while being used in pursuance of statutory powers or duties.

(3) This rule applies to each street or portion of a street set out in the Schedule to these rules.

(1) The portion of Grafton Street from Nassau Street to St. Stephen's Green.
(2) The portion of Wicklow Street from Grafton Street to the eastern boundary of Glendenning Lane.
(3) The portion of Harry Street from Grafton Street to the eastern boundary of No. 2 Harry Street.
(4) The portion of Chatham Street from Grafton Street to the eastern boundary of No. 1 Chatham Street.
(5) The portion of South Anne Street from Grafton Street to the western boundary of No. 31 South Anne Street.
(6) The portion of Duke Street from Grafton Street to the western boundary of No. 21 Duke Street.
(7) Henry Street.
(8) The portion of Henry Place from Henry Street to a point 15 yards north of the junction of Henry Place and Henry Street.
(9) The portion of Moore Street from Henry Street to a point 20 yards south of Henry Place.
(10) The portion of Coles Lane from Henry Street to Sampson's Lane.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

1. Rule 3 (1) prohibits a person from parking a vehicle within the pedestrianised streets or portion of streets set out in the schedule to the rules between 11 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on weekdays.

2. Rule 3 (2) outlines exceptions to the prohibition on parking.

3. These rules apply in the area comprising the County Borough of Dublin.
