IMPOSITION OF DUTIES (DUMPING AND SUBSIDIES) (PROVISIONAL DUTY ON TOILET PAPER AND FACIAL TISSUES) ORDER, 1973. |

WHEREAS, during an investigation by An Coimisiún Dumpála under section 7 of the Imposition of Duties (Dumping and Subsidies) Act, 1968 (No. 11 of 1968), in relation to goods of the kind specified in Articles 3 and 4 of the Order following, that Commission recommended to the Minister for Industry and Commerce that a provisional duty at the rates specified in those Articles be imposed for a period of six months: |

NOW I, JUSTIN KEATING, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 13 of the said Imposition of Duties (Dumping and Subsidies) Act, 1968 , hereby order as follows: |
||
1. This Order may be cited as the Imposition of Duties (Dumping and Subsidies) (Provisional Duty on Toilet Paper and Facial Tissues) Order, 1973. |
||
2. In this Order "the United Kingdom" means Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, and the Channel Islands. |
||
3. A provisional duty at the rate of 38 per cent. shall be charged, levied and paid between the 21st day of May, 1973, and the 20th day of November, 1973, on toilet paper which is classified at tariff code number 4815-066 in the Schedule to the Imposition of Duties (No. 200) (Customs Duties and Form of Customs Tariff) Order, 1972 ( S.I. No. 220 of 1972 ), and which is produced in whole or in part in, or is exported from, the United Kingdom. |

4. A provisional duty at the rate of 14 per cent. shall be charged, levied and paid between the 21st day of May, 1973, and the 20th day of November, 1973, on rectangular articles of paper material suitable for use as facial tissues which are not less than four hundred and not more than nine hundred square centimetres in area and which are produced in whole or in part in, or are exported from, the United Kingdom. |

5. The duties imposed by this Order are hereby placed under the care and management of the Revenue Commissioners. |

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
This Order provides for the imposition of provisional duties of 38 per cent. and 14 per cent. respectively on imports of toilet paper and facial tissues from the United Kingdom. |
