MAYO COUNTY COUNCIL (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1974. |

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 33 (7) of the Local Government Act, 1941 (No. 23 of 1941), hereby orders as follows:-- |
||
1. The number of members of the Council of the County of Mayo to be elected for the county electoral area of Ballina shall be altered from five to six and the number of such members to be elected for the county electoral area of Swineford shall be altered from five to four and the third column of the Schedule to the Mayo County Council (Amendment) Order, 1945 shall be amended accordingly. |

2. This Order may be cited as the Mayo County Council (Amendment) Order, 1974. |
||
3. This Order and the Mayo County Council Order, 1942, and the Mayo County Council (Amendment) Order, 1945, may be cited collectively as the Mayo County Council Orders, 1942 to 1974. |

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
The effect of this Order is to provide that in a local election for the Council of the County of Mayo six members shall be elected for the electoral area of Ballina and four members shall be elected for the electoral area of Swineford. |
