POUNDS (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1977.

POUNDS (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1977.

I, GERARD COLLINS, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 8 of the Pounds (Provision and Maintenance) Act, 1935 (No. 17 of 1935), hereby make the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Pounds (Amendment) Regulations, 1977.

2. The Pounds Regulations, 1938 to 1975, and these Regulations may be cited together as the Pounds Regulations, 1938 to 1977.

3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations.

4. The Pounds Regulations, 1938 (S. R. & O., No. 149 of 1938), shall have effect, in relation to chattels and animals impounded on or after the 1st day of December, 1977, as if the following Table were substituted for the Table (inserted by the Pounds (Amendment) Regulations, 1975 ( S.I. No. 289 of 1975 )) in the Second Schedule.

POUNDKEEPERS' FEES COVERING IMPOUNDING AND CARE OF CHATTELS AND IMPOUNDING, CARE AND SUSTENANCE OF AND ATTENDANCE ON ANIMALS.
for every for each period of 24 hours or part of such period.
Brood Mare, stallion, hunter, polo pony £5.95
Horse, mare, pony, mule, jennet £2.39
Foal under twelve months old £1.19
Cow, heifer, bull, bullock £1.80
Calf under twelve months old £1.59
Sheep, lamb, goat, donkey, turkey £0.80
Pig £1.00
Greyhound £1.19
Ordinary domestic fowl £0.29
Dog other than greyhound £0.40
Mechanically propelled vehicle not exceeding one ton in weight £0.74
Mechanically propelled vehicle exceeding one ton in weight £0.87
Article comprising a levy or first of a number of articles in a levy exceeding one cwt. estimated weight £0.29
Article comprising a levy or first of a number of articles in a levy not exceeding one cwt. estimated weight £0.15
Second and subsequent articles in the same levy £0.08
Levy of hay or straw, per estimated ton £0.74
Levy of flax, wool, &c. per estimated ton £0.74

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to increase, with effect as on and from 1st December, 1977, the poundkeepers' fees prescribed in the Pounds Regulations, 1938 to 1975.
