BOVINE TUBERCULOSIS (ATTESTATION OF THE STATE AND GENERAL PROVISIONS) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1982 |

I, Brian Lenihan, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 13 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966), as adapted by the Agriculture and Fisheries (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1977 ( S.I. No. 31 of 1977 ), hereby order as follows:-- |

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Bovine Tuberculosis (Attestation of the State and General Provisions) (Amendment) Order, 1982. |
||
(2) The Bovine Tuberculosis (Attestation of the State and General Provisions) Order, 1978 ( S.I. No. 256 of 1978 ), and this Order may be cited together as the Bovine Tuberculosis (Attestation of the State and General Provisions) Orders, 1978 and 1982. |
||
(3) This Order shall come into operation on the 21st day of June 1982. |
||
2. Article 17 of the Bovine Tuberculosis (Attestation of the State and General Provisions) Order, 1978, is hereby amended by the addition of the following paragraph: |
||
"(4) An animal which is six weeks of age or under may not be moved into or out of a holding or other land unless-- |
||
( a ) it bears an approved ear-tag and is accompanied by an identity card issued by the Minister in respect of that animal, or |
||
( b ) it is moved to a place which, for the purpose of these Regulations, for the time being stands designated by the Minister as an ear-tagging centre". |

EXPLANATORY NOTE |
||
This Order prohibits the movement of calves six weeks of age or under into or out of a holding unless they are tagged and are accompanied by an identity card issued by the Minister or unless they are being moved to a designated tagging centre. |
