AIR NAVIGATION (NATIONALITY AND REGISTRATION OF AIRCRAFT) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1984.

I, JIM MITCHELL, Minister for Communications, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 5 , 9 and 11 of the Air Navigation and Transport Act, 1946 (No. 23 of 1946) (as amended by section 9 of the Air Navigation and Transport Act, 1950 (No. 4 of 1950)) and the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1983 (No. 40 of 1983) hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Air Navigation (Nationality and Registration of Aircraft) (Amendment) Order, 1984.

(2) The Air Navigation (Nationality and Registration of Aircraft) Orders, 1963 and 1979, and this Order may be cited together as the Air Navigation (Nationality and Registration of Aircraft) Orders, 1963 to 1984.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 20th day of January, 1984.

3. The Air Navigation (Nationality and Registration of Aircraft) Order, 1963 ( S.I. No. 88 of 1963 ), is hereby amended by--

( a ) the deletion of Article 7 (1A) (inserted by the Air Navigation (Nationality and Registration of Aircraft) (Amendment) Order, 1979 ( S.I. No. 194 of 1979 )), and

( b ) the deletion of Article 18A (inserted by the Air Navigation (Nationality and Registration of Aircraft) (Amendment) Order, 1979.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order amends the Air Navigation (Nationality and Registration of Aircraft) Order, 1963 by the deletion of Article 7 (1A) which affected the first time registration in the State of subsonic jet aircraft and of Article 18A which affected the cancellation of the registration of subsonic jet aircraft.
