GARDA SÍOCHÁNA (COMPLAINTS) ACT, 1986 (ESTABLISHMENT DAY) ORDER, 1987.

I, ALAN M. DUKES, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 2 of the Garda Síochána (Complaints) Act, 1986 (No. 29 of 1986), hereby make the following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Garda Síochána (Complaints) Act, 1986 (Establishment Day) Order, 1987.

2. The 6th day of April, 1987, is hereby appointed to be the establishment day for the purposes of the Garda Síochána (Complaints) Act, 1986 (No. 29 of 1986).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order fixes 6th April, 1987 as the date for the establishment of the Garda Síochána Complaints Board which will deal with complaints by the public against members of the Garda Síochána.
