DISTRICT COURT AREAS (VARIATION OF DAYS AND HOURS) ORDER, 1993.

DISTRICT COURT AREAS (VARIATION OF DAYS AND HOURS) ORDER, 1993.

I, GERARD COLLINS, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 26 of the Courts of Justice Act, 1953 (No. 32 of 1953), and after consultation with the President of the District Court, hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the District Court Areas (Variation of Days and Hours) Order, 1989.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of September, 1989.

2. In this Order "the Principal Order" means the District Court (Areas) Order, 1961 ( S.I. No. 5 of 1961 ).

3. The hours for holding the District Court in the district court area of Castletown Bere shall, in lieu of the hours specified in column (4) at reference number 34 in the First Schedule, and in column (4) at reference number 29 in the Second Schedule, to the Principal Order (as varied by the District Court Areas (Variation of Hours) Order, 1985 ( S.I. No. 42 of 1985 )), be 11 a.m.

4. The days for holding the District Court in the district court area of Cork City shall, in lieu of the days specified in column (4) at reference number 34 in the Second Schedule to the Principal Order, be each Friday.

5. Business transacted in the District Court which is initiated and is not completed before the commencement of this Order shall be continued and completed as if this Order had been in force at the time such business was initiated.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order provides for an earlier commencement time for the sittings of the District Court in Castletown Bere, Co. Cork. It also provides that the day appointed for the transaction of civil business in the District Court area of Cork City shall be each Friday instead of each Wednesday.
