RESTRICTION OF IMPORTS FROM IRAQ AND KUWAIT ORDER, 1990.

The Government in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 2 of the Restriction of Imports Act, 1962 (No. 20 of 1962), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Restriction of Imports from Iraq and Kuwait Order, 1990.

2. The importation into the State of goods that--

( a ) fall within the Treaty establishing the European Coal and Steel Community signed at Paris in the 18th day of April, 1951, and

( b ) are manufactured or produced in or consigned from Iraq or Kuwait ( other than goods in free circulation in a Member State of the European Communities),

is hereby prohibited save under and in accordance with a licence issued by the Minister for Industry and Commerce.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to prohibit, save under a licence issued by the Minister for Industry and Commerce, the import of goods manufactured or produced covered by the ECSC Treaty, from Iraq and Kuwait.
