I, JOE WALSH, Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to the Commission Directive 92/64/EEC(1) of 13 July 1992, Commission Directive 92/99/EEC(2) of 17 November, 1992, and Commission Directive 92/113/EEC(3) of 16 December, 1992, and for the purposes of giving further effect to Council Directive 70/524/EEC of 23 November, 1970,(4), as amended, hereby make the following Regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Additives in Feedingstuffs) (Amendment) Regulations, 1993.
|
|
|
(2) The European Communities (Additives in Feedingstuffs) Regulations, 1989 to 1991 and these Regulations may be cited together as the European Communities (Additives in Feedingstuffs) Regulations, 1989 to 1993.
|
|
|
(3) These Regulations shall come into effect on 30 March, 1993.
|
|
|
2. In these Regulations "the Regulations of 1989" means the European Communities (Additives in Feedingstuffs) Regulations, 1989 ( S.I. No. 49 of 1989 ).
|
|
|
3. Regulation 2 (1) of the Regulations of 1989 is hereby amended by the substitution, for the definition of "Council Directive", of the definition set out in the First Schedule to these Regulations.
|
|
|
4. The Regulations of 1989 are hereby amended by the substitution--

EXPLANATORY NOTE.
|
|
|
1. These Regulations amend the European Communities (Additives in Feedingstuffs) Regulations, 1989, so as to give effect to Commission Directives No. 92/64/EEC, 92/99/EEC, and 92/113/EEC, which amend Annexes I and II to Council Directive 70/524/EEC concerning additives in feedingstuffs, with regard to the additives authorised in feedingstuffs and their condition of use.
