COUNTY OF MEATH LOCAL ELECTORAL AREAS ORDER, 1998

The Minister for the Environment and Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 3 and 24 of the Local Government Act, 1994 (No. 8 of 1994), hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the County of Meath Local Electoral Areas Order, 1998.

2. (1) The County of Meath shall be divided into the local electoral areas which are named in the first column of the Schedule to this Order.

(2) Each such local electoral area shall consist of the area set forth in the second column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such local electoral area.

(3) The number of members of the council of the County of Meath to be elected for each such local electoral area shall be the number set forth in the third column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of that local electoral area.

3. Every reference in the Schedule to this Order to an electoral division, urban district or townlands shall be construed as referring to such electoral division, urban district or townlands as existing at the date of this Order.

4. The Meath County Council Order, 1942, the Meath County Council (Amendment) Order, 1974 ( S.I. No. 33 of 1974 ) and Article 10 of the County Electoral Areas (Amendment) Order, 1985 ( S.I. No. 109 of 1985 ) are hereby revoked.
