Customs-Free Airport (Extension of Laws) Regulations, 2000

CUSTOMS-FREE AIRPORT (EXTENSION OF LAWS) REGULATIONS, 2000

I, Micheál Martin, Minister for Health and Children, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 13 (2) of the Customs-free Airport Act, 1947 (No.5 of 1947) as amended by section 49 of the Air Navigation and Transport Act, 1988 ( No. 15 of 1988 ), and with the consent of the Minister for Finance, the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment and the Minister for Public Enterprise, hereby make the following Regulations -

1.        These Regulations may be cited as the Customs-free Airport (Extension of Laws) Regulations, 2000.

2.        The provisions of the Misuse of Drugs Acts 1977 and 1984 (Nos. 12 and 18 of 1977 and 1984 respectively), together with all Orders and Regulations made thereunder and for the time being in force, are hereby extended to the Customs-free Airport at Shannon.

3.        The provisions of the Irish Medicines Board Act, 1995 (No 29 of 1995) , together with any Regulations made under Section 32 thereof and any other Regulations in force for the time being by virtue of Section 34(4) of the said Act, are hereby extended to the Customs-free Airport at Shannon.

4.        The Customs-free Airport (Extension of Laws) Regulations, 1979 ( S.I. No. 174 of 1979 ) are hereby revoked.

The Minister for Finance consents to the making of the foregoing Regulations.

Explanatory Note

These Regulations extend the controls in force under the Misuse of Drugs Acts, 1977 and 1984 and the Irish Medicines Board Act, 1995 to the Customs-free Airport at Shannon.
