I, BRENDAN HOWLIN, Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (2) of the Public Service Pensions (Single Scheme and Other Provisions) Act 2012 (No. 37 of 2012), hereby order as follows: |

1. This Order may be cited as the Public Service Pensions (Single Scheme and Other Provisions) Act 2012 (Commencement of Single Public Service Pension Scheme) Order 2012. |
||
2. The 1st day of January 2013 is appointed as the day on which Part 2 (in so far as it is not already in operation) of the Public Service Pensions (Single Scheme and Other Provisions) Act 2012 (No. 37 of 2012) comes into operation. |

This Order commences, with effect from 1 January 2013, the Single Public Service Pension Scheme, as provided for in Part 2 of the Public Service Pensions (Single Scheme and Other Provisions) Act 2012 . New recruits to public service employment on and from the commencement date will be members of the Scheme. |
