I, PHIL HOGAN, Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 24 (1) of the Local Government Reform Act 2014 (No. 1 of 2014), hereby order as follows: |
||
1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government Reform Act 2014 (Transfer Date) Order 2014. |
||
2. The 1st day of June 2014 is appointed as the transfer date for the purposes of the Local Government Reform Act 2014 (No. 1 of 2014). |
||

EXPLANATORY NOTE |

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation). |

This order provides that 1 June 2014 is the transfer date for the purposes of the dissolution of town councils under the Local Government Reform Act 2014 . On that date, all town councils are dissolved and cease to exist and the local authorities in whose areas the town councils were situated are established as their successors. |
