Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 2nd May, 2017.

I, DENIS NAUGHTEN, Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (2) of the Energy Act 2016 (No. 12 of 2016), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Energy Act 2016 (Commencement of Certain Provisions) Order 2017.

2. The 28th day of April 2017 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Energy Act 2016 (No. 12 of 2016) come into operation:

(a) section 3;

(b) section 4;

(c) sections 5 and 6;

(d) sections 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17;

(e) sections 20, 21 and 22;

(f) section 23.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings into operation on the 28th April 2017 sections 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 , 9 , 10 , 12 , 13 , 14 , 15 , 16 , 17 , 20 , 21 , 22 and 23 of the Energy Act 2016 (No. 12 of 2016).
