Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

I, CATHERINE BYRNE, Minister of State at the Department of Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 8 (3) of the Misuse of Drugs (Amendment) Act 2016 (No. 9 of 2016) and the Health (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) (No. 4) Order 2017 ( S.I. No. 339 of 2017 ), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Misuse of Drugs (Amendment) Act 2016 (Commencement) (No. 2) Order 2017.

2. The 22nd day of November 2017 is appointed as the day on which section 7 (f) of the Misuse of Drugs (Amendment) Act 2016 (No. 9 of 2016) shall come into operation.

This Order appoints 22 November 2017 as the date on which the Misuse of Drugs (Supervision of Prescription and Supply of Methadone) Regulations 1998 ( S.I. No. 225 of 1998 ) are revoked.
