INDUSTRIAL AND PROVIDENT SOCIETIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1969 - SECT 83

Prohibition on carrying on banking or taking deposits by credit unions.

83.(1) A credit union shall not carry on the business of banking and shall not
receive money on deposit from its members.

(2) A credit union which contravenes the provisions of this section shall be
guilty of an offence and liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding
#10.
