LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1923 - SECT 6 Fees for holding inquiries. 6. Where under any enactment (including any local Act, Provisional Order confirmed by an Act, or Order of the Lord Lieutenant in Council) the Ministry of Home Affairs is authorised or required to hold an inquiry, and the costs of the inquiry are made payable by any [district] council, board, commissioners, committee or other person, or in such manner and by such persons as the Ministry of Home Affairs or the officer holding the inquiry may direct, then, notwithstanding anything in such enactment, such costs may include a fee, in respect of the services of any officer of the Ministry engaged in the inquiry, not exceeding [#5.25] a day. LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1923 - SECT 7 Expenses of district councils in connection with war memorials. 7.[(1) [A district council] (a)may incur reasonable expenditure (i)in the alteration of any war memorial so as to make it serve as a memorial in connection with any war subsequent to that in connection with which it was erected; and (ii)in the correction of any error or omission in the inscription on any such memorial; (b)subject to the approval of the Ministry (i)may maintain, repair, protect and light any war memorial whether vested in them or not; (ii)may erect a war memorial either alone or jointly with any other such council or councils.] (2) Any expenditure to be incurred by a council under this section shall be limited to an amount from time to time approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs, ... (3) The provisions of this section shall not apply to a war memorial provided or maintained by a council in the exercise of any other statutory power. S.8 rep. by 1948 c.4 (NI) s.28(2). S.10 rep. by 1948 c.11 (NI) s.15 sch.2 LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1923 - SECT 11 Short title and construction. 11.(1) This Act may be cited as the Local Government Act (Northern Ireland), 1923, and shall be construed as one with the Local Government Acts (Northern Ireland), 1898 to 1922, and those Acts and this Act may be cited together as the Local Government Acts (Northern Ireland), 1898 to 1923.
