MARRIAGE AND MATRIMONIAL CAUSES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1946 MARRIAGE AND MATRIMONIAL CAUSES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1946 - LONG TITLE An Act to extend the hours within which marriages may lawfully be solemnized; to require the age in years of each of the parties to be stated on the registration of a marriage; to confer on the Supreme Court temporary jurisdiction in certain matrimonial causes where the relevant marriage took place on or after the third day of September, nineteen hundred and thirty-nine and before the first day of January, nineteen hundred and forty-six; and for purposes connected with the matters aforesaid. MARRIAGE AND MATRIMONIAL CAUSES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1946 - SECT 1 1.(1) The enactments specified in the Schedule to this Act (being enactments which as amended by the Marriages (Ireland) Act, 1918, require that marriages solemnized at certain places or in certain circumstances shall be solemnized between the hours of eight in the morning and three in the afternoon) shall be amended by the substitution of the words "six in the afternoon" for the words "three in the afternoon," and, in any enactment incorporating the requirement aforesaid, references to the hours first mentioned shall be construed as references to the hours as extended by this section. (2) The forms of marriage licences shall be altered so as to give effect to the foregoing provisions. Subs.(3) rep. by SLR (NI) 1952 MARRIAGE AND MATRIMONIAL CAUSES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 1946 - SECT 2 Age in years of parties to be stated on registration of marriage. 2.(1) After the passing of this Act every entry of the particulars relating to a marriage required by law to be made in a marriage register book, register book or register of marriages, and every certificate issued for the purpose of the registration of a marriage and certifying that a marriage has been solemnized shall contain a statement of [the date of birth and] the age in years, on the date of the marriage, of each party thereto. (2) Schedule G of the Marriages (Ireland) Act, 1844 (which contains the form in which entries are to be made in a marriage register book), Form (A) of the Schedule to the Registration of Marriages (Ireland) Act, 1863, and the Schedule to the Matrimonial Causes and Marriage Law (Ireland) Amendment Act, 1871 (which relate to certificates issued for the purpose of the registration of marriages) shall have effect subject to the provisions of this section. f1lf110f3lf40f5 c.110 and thirty-eight.
