Provisions with respect to members of other UK forces sent to aid RUC. 19.(1) Where, under arrangements authorised by, or in compliance with directions given under, an enactment of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, a member of a police force within the meaning of section 62 of the Police Act 1964 or section 50 of the Police (Scotland) Act 1967 (in this Act referred to as "another United Kingdom police force") is provided for the purpose of enabling the Royal Ulster Constabulary to meet a special demand on its resources, he shall, while serving with that Constabulary (a)be under the direction and control of the Inspector General; and (b)have all the powers, protection and privileges of a member of that Constabulary. (2) The Police Authority shall pay to the police authority maintaining the other United Kingdom police force providing the member or other assistance under such arrangements or in accordance with such directions as are mentioned in subsection (1), such contributions as may be agreed between the Police Authority and the police authority for the other United Kingdom police force or as may, in default of agreement, be determined jointly by the Secretary of State....
