26.(1) The landlord or the tenant under a regulated or restricted tenancy of a dwelling-house may apply to the Department to register the rent under that tenancy. (2) An application for the registration of a rent under this Part must be sent to the Department, be in the prescribed form and contain the prescribed particulars in relation to the tenancy and the dwelling-house. (3) Subject to Articles 25(5) and 33, where a rent for a dwelling-house has been registered under this Article no alteration to the registered rent shall be made unless a rent assessment committee determines an appropriate rent for the dwelling-house in pursuance of an application under this Order or a court orders the register to be altered. (4) Where the Department registers a rent under this Article in pursuance of an application, it shall serve on the tenant and the landlord a notice in the prescribed form stating the amount of the rent and the date on which the application for registration was received by it.
