REPRESENTATION OF THE PEOPLE ACT REPRESENTATION OF THE PEOPLE ACT - LONG TITLE An Act further to amend the Laws relating to the Representation of the People in England and Wales. [15th August 1867] Preamble rep. by SLR 1893 REPRESENTATION OF THE PEOPLE ACT - SECT 1 Short title. 1. This Act shall be cited for all purposes as "The Representation of the People Act, 1867." S.28 ext. to I by 1884 c.3 (48 & 49 Vict.) s.9(7) sch.1 which was rep. by 1918 c.64 (7 & 8 Geo.5) s.47 sch.8 REPRESENTATION OF THE PEOPLE ACT - SECT 51 Demise of Crown not to dissolve Parliament. 51. ... The Parliament in being at any future demise of the Crown shall not be determined or dissolved by such demise, but shall continue so long as it would have continued but for such demise, unless it should be sooner prorogued or dissolved by the Crown, anything in the Succession to the Crown Act, 1707, in any way notwithstanding.
