SOCIAL SECURITY

The Social Security (Miscellaneous Amendments No. 3) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2006

  Made 11th September 2006 
  Coming into operation 2nd October 2006 

The Department for Social Development makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 5(1)(a) to (c) and (q) and 165(1), (4) and (6) of the Social Security Administration (Northern Ireland) Act 1992[1] and Articles 11(3) and (6) and 74(1) and (3) of the Social Security (Northern Ireland) Order 1998[2] and now vested in it[3].

Citation and commencement
     1. These Regulations may be cited as the Social Security (Miscellaneous Amendments No. 3) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2006 and shall come into operation on 2nd October 2006.

Amendment of the Social Security (Claims and Payments) Regulations
    
2. —(1) The Social Security (Claims and Payments) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1987[4] shall be amended in accordance with paragraphs (2) to (5).

    (2) In regulation 4C(11)[5] (making a claim for state pension credit) after "month" insert ", or such longer period as the Department considers reasonable,".

    (3) In regulation 6 (date of claim)—
