The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 95(1) of the Insolvency (Northern Ireland) Order1989 (1).
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Insolvency (Voluntary Winding Up) (Forms) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2008 and shall come into operation on 1st August 2008.
2. In these Regulations–
"the 1989 Order" means the Insolvency (Northern Ireland) Order 1989;
"the 1991 Regulations" means the Companies (Forms) (Amendment No. 3) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1991(2).
3. Regulation 5(3) of, and Part III of Schedule 2 to, the 1991 Regulations are revoked.
4. The forms VL1 and VL2 set out in the Schedule, with such variations as circumstances require, are the forms prescribed for the purposes of Article 95(1) of the 1989 Order.

These Regulations prescribe new Forms VL1 and VL2 to be used by a liquidator to give notice of his appointment, both by publication in the Belfast Gazette and by delivery to the Registrar of Companies in the case of voluntary winding ups.
The Regulations also revoke Regulation 5(3) of the Companies (Forms) (Amendment No.3) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1991 (S.R. 1991 No. 412) and the forms previously prescribed for this purpose in Part III of Schedule 2 to those Regulations.
