The Department of Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 111(3) of the Justice Act (Northern Ireland) 2011(1), makes the following Order:
1.-(1) This Order may be cited as the Justice (2011 Act) (Commencement No. 6) Order (Northern Ireland) 2013.
(2) In this Order, "the 2011 Act" means the Justice Act (Northern Ireland) 2011.
2. 10th May 2013 is the day appointed for the coming into operation of section 12 of the 2011 Act in so far as it relates to proceedings in the Crown Court and committal proceedings in the magistrates' courts in relation to an offence which –
(a)is alleged to have occurred in the local government district of Belfast; and
(b)is triable only on indictment.

This Order brings into operation provisions of the Justice Act (Northern Ireland) 2011 (c.24) ("the Act").
The provisions of the Act set out in Article 2 come into operation on 10th May 2013.
Section 12 relates to the examination of the accused through an intermediary and these provisions are commenced in so far as it relates to proceedings in the Crown Court and committal proceedings in the magistrates' courts in relation to an offence which -
(a)is alleged to have occurred in the local government district of Belfast; and
(b)is triable only on indictment.
