Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Fair Employment (Specification of Public Authorities) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2016 and shall come into operation on 1st August 2016.

Amendment of the Fair Employment (Specification of Public Authorities) Order (Northern Ireland) 2004

2.  For the Schedule to the Fair Employment (Specification of Public Authorities) Order (Northern Ireland) 2004(4) substitute the Schedule set out in the Schedule to this Order.

Revocation

3.  The Fair Employment (Specification of Public Authorities) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2015(5) is revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends the Fair Employment (Specification of Public Authorities) Order (Northern Ireland) 2004 ("the 2004 Order") which specifies a number of persons or bodies as public authorities for certain purposes under Part VII of the Fair Employment and Treatment (Northern Ireland) Order 1998 ("the 1998 Order").

The Schedule to the 2004 Order lists in Part I the bodies who are public authorities for the purposes of Articles 52 to 65 of the 1998 Order and in Part II the bodies who are public authorities for the purposes of Articles 62 to 65 of the 1998 Order.

Article 2 of this Order substitutes a new Schedule to the 2004 Order.

The following bodies have been added to Part I of the Schedule:

• The Education Authority

• Northern Ireland Museums Council

• Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman

The following bodies have been deleted from Part I of the Schedule:

• Assembly Ombudsman for Northern Ireland;

• Belfast Education and Library Board;

Article 3 revokes the Fair Employment (Specification of Public Authorities) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2015.
