Subject_1 DECISIONS of the LORDS OF COUNCIL AND SESSION reported by SIR ROBERT SPOTISWOODE OF PENTLAND.
Subject_2 Such of the following Decision as are of a Date prior to about the year 1620, must have been taken by Spotiswoode from some of the more early Reporters. The Cases which immediately follow have no Date affixed to them by Spotiswoode.

Robert Idington pursued the tenants of Clattie for their mails and duties of the crop, 1627. Excepted, That the summons was raised in December 1627; and so before the mails were due to be paid, viz. Yule and Candlemas. The Lords sustained the summons notwithstanding; for he was not to seek payment before the usual time, though it was thought contrary to form.
