Summary: The complainant submitted a request to the BBC for information concerning message boards and in particular the decision to remove -The Great Debate-. The BBC considered that this information fell outside the scope of the Act by virtue of Schedule 1 of the Act as it was held for the purposes of -journalism, art or literature-. The Commissioner-s decision is that the BBC correctly determined that the information is held to a significant extent for these purposes and therefore the BBC is not obliged to comply with Parts I to V of the Act. Information Tribunal appeal EA/2009/0003 withdrawn
