Summary: The complainant made a request for the budget for television and radio coverage of the American election; the amount of reporters and support staff which were sent to cover the American election and their itineraries. The BBC argued that the request was for information held for the purposes of art, journalism or literature and was therefore derogated. The Commissioner-™s decision is that the BBC correctly determined that the information is held to a significant extent for these purposes and therefore the BBC is not obliged to comply with Parts I to V of the Act.
