Summary: The complainant requested information about the costs associated with setting up the channel BBC Alba and the costs of the channel-™s live Hogmanay Show 2008, including a breakdown. The BBC responded to parts of the requests but stated that the request for the cost of producing the Hogmanay Show 2008 fell outside the scope of the Act because it relates to information held for the purposes of journalism, art or literature. The Commissioner-™s decision is that the BBC correctly determined that this information is held to a significant extent for these purposes and therefore the BBC is not obliged to comply with Parts I to V of the Act.
