Summary: The complainant made requests to the BBC for video clips and transcripts of comments made by an individual appearing on BBC news programmes. The BBC stated that the requested information falls outside the scope of the Act because it is information held for the purposes of art, journalism or literature. The Commissioner-™s decision is that the BBC correctly determined that the information is held to a significant extent for the purposes of art, journalism or literature. Therefore the BBC is not obliged to comply with Parts I to V of the Act.
