Summary: The complainant has requested information about the number of occasions when the BBC has quoted, interviewed or featured the National Secular Society over a two year period. The BBC explained the information was covered by the derogation and excluded by the Act. The complainant complained to the Information Commissioner (the Commissioner). The Commissioner-™s decision is that this information was held by the BBC genuinely for the purposes of journalism and did not fall inside the Act. He therefore upholds the BBC-™s position and requires no remedial steps to be taken. Information Tribunal appeal EA/2011/0272 struck out.
Section of Act/EIR & Finding: FOI 1 - Complaint Not upheld
