Welsh Government (Decision Notice) [2012] UKICO FS50386722 (02 April 2012)

Summary: The complainant requested information relating to the decision to bring in free admission to heritage sites to Welsh citizens under the age of 16 or over the age of 60. The Welsh Assembly Government (-˜the Welsh Government-™) disclosed some information but withheld other information under section 42 and 35 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (-˜the Act-™). The Commissioner-™s decision is that the Welsh Government incorrectly withheld information which, although exempt, should be disclosed as the public interest favours disclosure. The Commissioner requires the public authority to disclose to the complainant the requested information which it has so far withheld, subject to the redactions as highlighted in the confidential annex. Information Tribunal appeal number EA/2012/0103 withdrawn.
Section of Act/EIR & Finding: FOI 42 - Complaint Upheld
