Chief Constable North Yorkshire Police

The complainant has requested copies of correspondence it has sent to Potto Parish Council, and an investigation report, from North Yorkshire Police (“NYP”). NYP confirmed holding some information but advised that it was exempt from disclosure by virtue of section 40(2) (Personal information) of FOIA. During the Commissioner’s investigation, NYP added reliance on sections 31(1) (a) and (b) (Law enforcement) of FOIA to withhold the information in its entirety. The Commissioner is satisfied that it was entitled to do so. He does not require any steps.

FOI 31: Complaint not upheld

Decision notice: 275052
