Provisions with respect to certain summary offences and penalties
26. Extension of summary jurisdiction in respect of malicious damage.
— (1) If any person wilfully or maliciously commits any damage to any real or personal property whatsoever, either of a public or private nature, and the amount of the damage does not, in the opinion of the court, [

[ £ 1000 ] , he shall be liable on summary conviction to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to a fine not exceeding

28. Amendment of the Summary Jurisdiction (Ireland) Act, 1851.
— (1) A person convicted by a court of summary jurisdiction of an offence under
— (a)
paragraphs 1, 3, 5, 8, 10 and 11 of section ten,
(c)
paragraphs 3, 4 and 5 of section thirteen,
of the Summary Jurisdiction (Ireland) Act, 1851

46. Civil remedy for common assault and battery not to be barred under the Offences against the Person Act, 1861.
— (1) The conviction or punishment of a person upon complaint of an offence under sections forty-two or forty-three of the Offences against the Person Act, 1861
, or the dismissal of any such complaint shall not operate to bar any civil proceedings which might otherwise be brought against him.

52. Short title, construction and citation.
— (1) This Act may be cited as the Summary Jurisdiction Act (Northern Ireland), 1953.
(2) This Act shall be construed as one with, and included among the Acts which may be cited together as, the Summary Jurisdiction Acts (Northern Ireland).
