Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food
This Order appoints 1st October 1977 as the date of operation for forestry workers for the purposes of the Rent (Agriculture) Act 1976. That Act came into operation generally on 1st January 1977 (being the date appointed by the Rent (Agriculture) Act 1976 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1976, S.I. 1976/2124). Its operation was, however, subject to Part II of Schedule 3 to that Act, which postponed its operation in relation to workers employed, or formerly employed, in forestry, either as whole-time workers or as permit workers, and their successors until the date of operation for forestry workers.
