TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

The Employment Protection Act 1975 (Commencement No. 7) Order 1977

8th March 1977

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 129 of the Employment Protection Act 1975 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:-

Citation

1. This Order may be cited as the Employment Protection Act 1975 (Commencement No. 7) Order 1977.

Commencement

2. The following provisions of the Employment Protection Act 1975 shall come into operation on 6th April 1977:-

(a)section 59 (time off for public duties), apart from the words "or sections 57 and 58 above" in paragraph (b) of subsection (4); and

(b)sections 60 (provisions as to industrial tribunals) and 62 (provisions supplementary to sections 57 to 61) as far as they relate to section 59.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings into operation on 6th April 1977 the provisions of the Employment Protection Act 1975 which relate to time off for public duties and to complaints to industrial tribunals under section 59.
