The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the Secretary of State for Scotland and the Secretary of State for Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 13 of the Sea Fisheries (Shellfish) Act 1967 and now vested in them(1), and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following order:-
1. This order may be cited as The Lobsters (Control of Importation) Order 1981, and shall come into operation on 3rd August 1981.
2. The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food hereby designates for the purposes of this order an area consisting of all land which, being land in England, is within one mile from the high water mark of any area of tidal water designated by article 3(1) of The Lobsters (Control of Deposit) Order 1981 or within one mile of any area of inland water so designated.
3. The Secretary of State for Scotland hereby designates for the purposes of this order an area consisting of all land which, being land in Scotland, is within one mile from the high water mark of any area of tidal water designated by article 4(1) of The Lobsters (Control of Deposit) Order 1981 or within one mile of any area of inland water so designated.
4. The Secretary of State for Wales hereby designates for the purposes of this order an area consisting of all land which, being land in Wales, is within one mile from the high water mark of any area of tidal water designated by article 5(1) of the The Lobsters (Control of Deposit) Order 1981 or within one mile of any area of inland water so designated.
5. No person shall import into any area of land designated by article 2, 3 or 4 of this order a lobster of the species Homarus gammarus or the species Homarus americanus the deposit of which in the area of water to which the area of land is adjacent would be a contravention of article 6 of The Lobsters (Control of Deposit) Order 1981.
In Witness whereof the Official Seal of the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food is hereunto affixed on 9th July 1981.

This order, which applies to Great Britain,-
(a) designates an area consisting of all land which is within one mile of any of the areas of tidal or inland water designated by The Lobsters (Control of Deposit) Order 1981, and
(b) prohibits the importation into any .area of land so designated of lobsters the deposit of which in the area of water to which the area of land is adjacent would be a contravention of The Lobsters (Control of Deposit) Order 1981.
The importation of lobsters into an area of land designated by this order is not prohibited by this order if the deposit of those lobsters in the area of water to which the area of land is adjacent is authorised by a licence under article 7 of The Lobsters (Control of Deposit) Order 1981.
